creative techniques

With this task we were asked to go and film a scene, that includes the subject of suspicion.
We decided to make a effect that really creates an element of suspicion by including a dark figure or a figure of some one with their hood up which hides their face. The original opening of the video that we have made opens with a body on the floor, this opening immediately creates a sense of suspense as the audience do not know who did this or who the body belongs to. By the camera panning up the body of the killer the suspense builds. The music is low key and non diagetic it is parrael to the film as it also represents suspense. The task enabled us to explore different types of music and to experiment with what goes well with the scene we were trying to create. The video continues with the hooded character walking down the stairs and the edits are clever as that it shows a lot about the character, (how she walks, what she wears) but it still creates a element of suspense. The genre of our short clip would be thriller as it entails a lot of the elements that a thriller entails. Such as suspence which was the point of the task along with dark figures and a lot of match on action.
This lesson was a good chance was for us to develop our skills in terms of editing and camera work as we were able to see what went well and what does not look professional. In particular we looked at improving match on action shots, we did this by looking closely at the suspect and using editing to follow her actions.
